Top 4 Office Party Must-Haves

You know it's time for an office party when the thought of another meeting is going to send you employees over the edge. Summer is here and people want to be able to take a vacation and get a break from the office. The staff works hard all year long so why not reward them while the weather is warm and everyone wants to get out of the office and let loose. Here are the top 4 must-haves at the next office party. 

Complimentary Food 

Be sure to have endless food at the office party so no one is hangry. Especially if there is going to be drinking at the party. You want everyone to enjoy themselves but not get sick. When it comes to the type of food, think about what time the party is going to take place. If the party is going to start at six you need to have some heavy food options since it will be around dinner time. 

A barbeque is always a great option. You could also have some side dishes to go with the barbecue such as dips, caramelized onion dip is always a crowd favorite. Salad, pasta salad, mac and cheese, and coleslaw are just a few side dishes that would go great at your party. 

Sushi also goes over well with people. The rice helps people get full and there are a lot of varieties of vegetarian and fish options. Be sure you have something to offer each guest regarding allergies and food restrictions. 

A variety of appetizers are also great to have at office parties. If the party is early in the night this is an option to serve. Charcuterie meat and cheese board, nut mix, vegetable plate, and chicken wings are appetizers that will have your guest coming back for seconds and thirds.  

Drinks 

Wine is always a safe choice to have at any party. Offer both white and red and people will drink it up all night long. Beer is also a safe choice. Have a couple of light beers so people don’t become full and not eat. Offer mixed drinks with tonic or club soda. These always a hit with groups. Whoever goes after these drinks shows they aren’t afraid to drink with the group. As always, have a lot of water to offer to people because you want everyone to stay hydrated.  

Entertainment 

Why not provide your own entertainment by having karaoke, charades, and trivia for the staff. This will allow for different types of people to be able to interact with the game they feel most comfortable participating in. Having games at the office party will allow employees to meet and connect with each other. Some employees may even connect with someone they don’t know well. 

Photo Booth 

Remember the office party by capturing pictures in the photo booth throughout the night. Don’t have the budget for one from a company? Create your own photo booth by hanging up a background/colored paper for a cheap and easy backdrop. Pick up some fun props from the local party store. The props will create hilarious pictures.
